I finished watching Dou Yu yesterday...or....early this morning. Haha...I was up until midnight watching it. You can't seriously expect me to stop watching at episode 17 and wait another 12 hours to finish off the series. I'm a sucker for these series...

Haha...wow...I cried yesterday because of Hong Dou's death. I mean, Xiao Yan Zi and Ah Hao made me tear but it wasn't until Hong Dou was cruelly beat to death by Ah Bao. *sniffles* Hong Dou was a great friend. Everything she did was for the good of Xiao Yan Zi and Ah Hao. Although I must say that she's somewhat of a pushover. She always allows Xiao Yan Zi to talk her into things and then Ah Hao, with his horrible temper, becomes enraged with her and she has no choice but to take it all. To top that off, she had to bear all that guilt about Xiao Yan Zi's attempted suicide. It really wasn't her fault...no one knows what the future will bring but I can understand why she feels that way. Although she found true love, she was never able to marry Ah Qi. T_T

So sad! I loved the series and although the ending was just heartbreaking, I liked it. *sigh* Too bad Ah Hao died but it makes this drama different because usually, it's a happy ending for all. Then there's Shan Zi. He's so sweet and his undying love for Xiao Yan Zi is amazing. I feel so bad for him but he's a good guy. Throughout the whole drama, he suffered a great deal too. He could not have the love of his life. Her heart belonged to his best friend but his best friend wasn't exactly giving her the happiness she deserved. But he stood by her side and although she rejected him, he never gave up on her.

It seems as though the years of Ah Hao and Xiao Yan Zi's relationship was filled with a lot more pain than happiness yet in the end, they're hearts still belonged to each other. The whole series was heavy with PAIN.

On a lighter note, Xiao Hao is adorable! I love his little voice!!!! Kids are so adorable.

Personally, I think Pin Chao (Ah Hao) needs to work on his crying. The scene of his Liao Liao's death was pretty good but the other crying scenes were not convincing. On the contrary, Michael Zhang (Ah Qi), although just a supporting actor, was great. The scenes where he grieved over Hong Dou was very touching. I cried then too. It was heartbreaking to see the usual silly, cheerful Ah Qi suffering so much.
