F.I.R has released their second album and I really like it. Oh, there's a story that goes with this song...BoxUp had it completely wrong so I listened and typed it out:
Long ago there was a bird who sang but just once in her life. From the moment she left from the nest, she searched relentlessly for a thorn tree, never resting until she found one. Then she began to sing, more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth…but, carried away in the rapture of the song, she impaled herself on the longest, sharpest thorn. But as she was dying, she rose above her own agony to out-sing even the lark and the nightingale. The thorn bird traded her life for that one song, and the whole world was captivated to listen…And God, in his Heaven, smiled…as her very best was brought out only at the cost of great pain, driven by the thorn, with no thought of her death to come. But when we push the thorn into our breast, we know, we understand… and still we choose the pain of the thorn.
What do you think?
Anyway, here are some horrible (sadly) pictures of my mini birthday celebration at home. I felt bloated...we went to a buffet. ^_^
That would be my cake. Yeah, it's small but it was more than enough and it was quite yummy too! I was going to choose an ice cream cake but then decided on this one. When my mom said she'd take the cake, she only grabbed one handle of the bag and hence that big chunk of missing cake. ^^;;
That's me cutting the cake! Sorry but I can't help but notice how my hair is on my right is curving outwards...hehe...cuz I was too lazy to blow dry a little but my hair is usually a mess anyways. I care but really, I don't. ^^;;; I just can't stand static in my hair!
Ehh...I'm not smiling! I look pretty ridiculous...not that I was ever photogenic. My dad missed it when I was smiling and now, I look confused...tired...(some may say high but certainly NOT) or something. ^^;; But that would be my mom and I. Darn! She's taller...maybe I'm just not standing up perfectly straight....Haha
Well, it's been awhile since I've told a gross bio story right? Well, today, we have to open up the abdominal cavity. At first, it was ok (although later I realized I cut a rib!) but then as I tried to cut further under the rib cage with the scissors, something started to smell awful (not that formaldehyde is pleasant but it wasn't formaldehyde)! There was also a big black dent in my cat's liver. ^^;;; There was also greasy looking liquid that poured out....not sure from where. Oh, and little kids from the elementary schools were walking by towards the planetarium at the end of the hall and saw all the skinless cats. Poor things...I would've been traumatized...haha. But yeah, apparently, one girl almost fell over. Anyway, it was just very gross looking....we had to take off a thin layer that covered the organs and it was kinda like melted cheese on pizza. Yeah..ew. Then we took our cat over the sophomore class to show them and they were sooooooo grossed out. It was funny actually. We have yet to open the stomach (apparently there will probably be worms...@_@ oh no...insectophobic!) and the large intestines, which will most likely have feces (aka poop). He demonstrated on a cat for us although I couldn't see most of it and he took out some feces...kinda gross.
Oh, but I received an 85 for our cat skinning! WHOO HOO! Awesome...no one will get a 100 so that's pretty good. Also, for the lab practical in which he placed pins in the muscle of the cats and had us identify them, name its origin, insertion, and action...I got a 94!!!! I'm SUPER proud of myself...for one, it wasn't like we had much time and two, an A is always something to be happy about.
The question, "How does it feel to be 18?" really can't be answered. I mean, I feel the same but the one thing different about being 18...I'm FINALLY learning to drive. Whoo hoo! ^_^ I drove for about 2 hours on Saturday and also Sunday. It's about time...I've had my permit for 8 months and never been behind the wheel. So driving is pretty fun for the most part. After about 3-4 hours, my dad decided to try going out on the road. It was rush hour...lots of cars and I felt bad. I made my turns really slowly and all these cars were backed up behind us. My dad didn't seem as patient this time. Nonetheless, it's still cool and obviously, I'm excited!
Also, on Saturday, I went shopping...then drove. Afterwards, I went to New Jersey with my parents because they wanted me to talk to a Drexel University graduate, who I do know, just not too well. Anyway, I had dreaded it but it really wasn't that bad at all...in fact, we found we had a lot more in common that we had both expected. We actually had a really long chat and it was nice and I thought it was helpful. Yup, I'm going to Drexel...not the best school but oh well. Afterwards, she showed me some of her old dresses to see if I liked any of them for prom. Later, we went shopping again at like 8 and I tried on a couple prom dresses. She decided to try on one with me, for fun. Well, we walk in the fitting room and I see other people with the dress and the one girl who was wearing the dress we had started "humping" her friend who was looking at herself in the mirror. Needless to say, it was awkward. Anywho, still haven't found a dress but then again, I haven't really been trying but now, I should since I have a ticket. ^^;; Not to worry, I will take a picture of the dress when I get it.
I'm watching Stairway to Heaven again! ^_^ Jung-suh just found out she has eye cancer. T_T Wow...didn't realized I missed Song joo oppa!!! Been awhile!
My mouse troubles are a thing of the past...last week I finally ditched my optic mouse. My dad bought me a cool wireless mouse. Really neat. Still having some monitor troubles though but no, I'm not gonna get a new monitor because it already is a new (well, several months old) plasma.
Well, I'm tired (as usual) but despite that, I've written quite a bit already so I better go do my physics (*stab*) homework now.
