June 15, 2005 - Commencement

1027 seniors...I will miss them all, even if I've never met most of them. Well, here are some of the pictures we took. Amy (whose outfit I helped put together....I think it looks quite cute but she refused to wear white shoes cuz they were "dangerous"..haha...skinny heels though not stilettos) said she had to screen the pictures she's in first but yeah, she's at band practice so too bad.

My mom, me, Amy, and my cousin and yes, I am smiling again!!! But grr...Amy lost two of my balloons! She lost them when my name was called. LOL By the end of the night, I had also lost my National Honor Society thing (I only had the ribbon left), which was probably snagged off when I was hugging a friend and one of my earrings.

I wasn't able to get many pictures with my friends since I didn't have a camera with me. *sigh* That and Amy doesn't know how to take pictures....some of them came out sooooooooo unfocused so I ended up with less pictures than I thought I had.

But I had expected I would cry like a baby but I didn't when the ceremony ended so I thought I was good...that is, until I saw my friend whom I've known since first grade and we somehow ended up moving to the same area and going to the same high school. Then, turning around to seeing an awesome and very close friend of mine, I started crying even more. She was right though, I had cried enough tears this year.....I can't cry anymore but I couldn't help it. The life that I know has just come to an end...things will never be the same again. I hugged several other friends in tears and then my family found me and Amy insisted on taking a picture of me with tears streaming down my face. Of course, that picture came out fine but I hid my face. ^^;;

*sigh* But I'm seriously gonna miss everyone so damn much, whether I knew them well or not. They were still apart of my life in high school and friends made all the difference - it made high school bearable and memorable. Too bad it seemed as though some people left soon after because I definitely couldn't find some of the people I wanted to see.

It felt odd waking up this afternoon. I'm no longer a high school student...I'll no longer walk the halls of our huge high school and see the people I see everyday. Wow. Almost seems unreal. It seems like it all came too fast. I feel like I was unprepared and now, there's nothing I can do about it but I've learned early on that life must go on and changes are inevitable so all I can do is to accept it and make the most of the future.

There's so much I could write but I can't seem to find words. I guess it being graduation season has made me reflect on the past, in general, a lot and that's made me moody lately. I've realized how far I've come and more specifically, I've honestly been through a lot this year but I made it. For the most part, no one really knows about it all but I don't feel like they need to. I don't want pity....I don't want them to see me differently....they don't need to know because it won't change anything. I'm not the center of the world...there are people who have it worst so I tend to keep things that bother me to myself and it can be a bad thing but I feel as though I can deal with it...it just takes time. Perhaps I simply suppress them but so far, I haven't fallen into depression or anything so it must mean I'm doing alright. Although I must admit that when it come to family, it often leads to them misunderstanding me. They think I'm not mature enough and that I'm a kid who doesn't know any better when in reality, I know....I care....I understand....they just don't see it. It hurts sometimes...it can be fustrating...but maybe there are times when it's for the better.

Anyway, I need to stop posting all these depressing posts. I feel like I've made too many such posts in the past month. I feel like I shouldn't make you guys read these things but to those that do, I thank you.
